Dr. Marzia Cozzolino has conducted research for the past 15 years on international and global education at the secondary and tertiary levels, culminating in her dissertation study, which investigates the challenges faced by U.S. public schools in integrating international and global components into their mainstream curricula. In addition to her scholarship in this area, Dr. Cozzolino has extensive experience as an international and global educator, having worked as a foreign language teacher, a study abroad coordinator, an intercultural mediator, and a university instructor in various educational settings in Italy, France, Great Britain, Canada, and the United States. Additionally, she has helped schools in Italy and the U.S. develop global education programs.

Dr. Cozzolino holds a Ph.D. in Education (Social and Comparative Analysis), a M.A. in Italian Language and Literature, and a graduate certificate in European and Global Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She has presented at the Northeast Conference for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NCTFL), the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), the Pennsylvania Council for International Education (PaCIE), the American Educational Studies Association (AESA), and the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). She sits on the Board of Visitors for the School of Education at Robert Morris University and the Advisory Council for Our Lady of Sacred Heart high school (OLSH) in Coraopolis, PA, and she is a member of the scientific committee for the Italian peer-reviewed journal, Innovazione ed Educazione.
